Singer-actress Jennifer Lopez will slash the asking price of her mansion in Southern California by almost 15 percent to US$14.5 million, according to sources with knowledge of the listing, reported The Wall Street Journal. The massive estate features a dance studio/gym, recording studio and 20-seater movie theatre.

The newspaper revealed that a realtor from Hilton & Hyland is marketing the home which was first put up for sale at the beginning of the year. Lopez took the house off the market in late July as there were no takers for the original US$17 million asking price.

Lopez paid US$8.2 million for the estate back in 2010, stated public records. She then remodeled it to fit her needs, sources said. The property is located nearly 30 miles outside of Los Angeles in the small community of Hidden Hills, a favourite with Hollywood stars.

The mansion comprises nine bedrooms and measures about 17,000 sq ft. There is a dining room with seating for 12 guests and a master suite with private terrace. A huge entertainment wing houses the recording studio, movie theatre, gym, dressing room, full-service bar and guest suite. A swimming pool and spa can also be found on the grounds of the house.

Lopez, or J.Lo as her fans know her, had success as a singer in the late 1990s and early 2000s while also engaging in a series of high profile relationships. She is currently a judge on the hit TV show American Idol and is slated to appear in an upcoming TV series in the US.
