Despite being in the midst of a presidential campaign that is taking him across the United States, republican candidate and real estate developer Donald Trump recently sold a condo in his 32-story Trump Park Avenue building for US$14.05 million, reported The Wall Street Journal. The property is located in the heart of Manhattan.

This is the second unit in the building that Trump has sold in the past six months, added the article. In July 2015, he sold a massive penthouse there for US$21 million. The most recently sold unit has four bedrooms and is situated on the 27th floor. It underwent renovations before being sold, and features oak floors, handcrafted Italian brass doorknobs and views of Park Avenue.

Listing agent Michelle E. Griffith of Trump International Realty said that Trump never lived in the apartment and that it had been rented out over a month ago before going on the market for US$16.8 million. She did not reveal who the buyer was, but did mention that they would be using the unit as a full-time residence.

During the past 12 months, Griffith has sold over US$45 million worth of real estate in the Trump Park Avenue Building, noted the report. She did not reveal if the increase in sales and interest in the building was due to Trump’s presidential campaign.

Trump’s daughter and executive vice president of development and acquisitions of the Trump Organization, Ivanka Trump, explained that the sale of this unit had nothing to do with political fundraising. “We sell units when the market is conducive to selling,” she stated.

The building previously housed a hotel before being purchased by Trump in 2001 for US$115 million. He converted it into condominiums and retained possession of several units including another penthouse that is currently for sale. The asking price for that unit is US$35 million.
