About 840,000 Singaporean HDB households will receive GST Voucher – U-Save rebates this month to offset part of their utilities bills, revealed the Ministry of Finance (MOF) on Sunday, 2 October.

Eligible households will each receive a GST Voucher – U-Save of up to $65, depending on their HDB flat type.

Homeowners living in 1- and 2-room flats can offset about three to four months of utilities bills on average with the rebate, which is distributed every quarter. Those living in 3- and 4-room units are able to offset about one to two months of utilities bills on average.

The GST Voucher – U-Save rebate is expected to cost the government $190 million annually, and forms one of three components under the permanent GST Voucher scheme.
