Keppel Land’s Keppel Cove waterfront project in Zhongshan City will house the first Customs, Immigration, Quarantine and Port-clearance (CIQP) post within a private marina in Guangdong.

Attended by more than 300 government officials and guests, the opening of the CIQP post also marks the launch of the pilot project for direct sailing between Zhongshan City and Macau.

Spanning over 890,000 sq m, the residential and marina lifestyle development comprises 250 waterfront villas, each with a private berth. The Marina at Keppel Cove also offers an additional 158 berths for the yachting community.

In an SGX filing, Keppel Land noted that the direct CIQP clearance at its private marina is a major selling point for its homeowners, and an important milestone in the development of the yachting and tourism industries in the Pearl Delta region.

“We are happy to play a part in Guangdong’s growth story through promoting the yachting industry and tourism, as well as enhancing connectivity in the Pearl River Delta region,” said Keppel Land CEO Ang Wee Gee.

“Having the CIQP clearance right at the doorstep of our marina and with start of direct sailing between Zhongshan and Macau, Keppel Cove will be able to help bring the best in holistic waterfront and urban living to China.”

A 45-minute yacht ride from Macau, Keppel Cove is a luxury lifestyle destination between Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau.

In fact, the development’s first phase comprising 42 villas has already been launched for sale, while the marina clubhouse is set to launch in mid-2017, said Keppel Land.
