Keppel Land group’s former General Manager, Joseph Tan Tai Chiew, has been appointed CEO-designate of the Real Estate Developers’ Association of Singapore (REDAS), reported The Straits Times.
The 58-year-old will become CEO on 1 May after the current chief, Lee Suan Hiang, 66, retires on 30 April.
“Joseph joins us with his vast experience and excellent network in the real estate industry,” said REDAS President Augustine Tan.
He was previously with Keppel Land group for 10 years, primarily as General Manager for Keppel Bay, the developer that transformed the 32ha former Keppel Shipyard into an integrated project with condominiums and a marina club.
Aside from serving in a regional asset management role at a US-based multinational bank, Tan was also involved in retail management with DBS Land and the Singapore Land group.
“We believe Joseph is well-positioned in REDAS to strengthen its collaboration with the government and its agencies and, together with real estate industry stakeholders, work on bringing stability to the present property market,” shared Augustine Tan.
He also expressed his gratitude to Lee for his contributions to the association in the past four years.
Under his leadership, REDAS has strengthened its collaborations with key industry policymakers and initiated programmes to boost the industry’s productivity and capabilities.
The association also established the REDAS Foundation during this period to improve the industry’s corporate social responsibility.
