The American Club has a full range of dining and recreational facilities to make you feel at home.

Imagine a refuge in the heart of the city where you and your family are always welcome, where there is a diverse range of programmes and activities for every member of the family, and where you can sit down to sumptuous meals with friends and enjoy good old-fashioned American warmth and hospitality.

Located in the heart of town, The American Club boasts a full range of dining, wellness and recreational options; a one-stop shop for just about everything. A home away from home for many expat members, The American Club has helped the newly arrived settle in comfortably, expand their business network, and make new friends within the community.

Get in shape

Work up a sweat at the gym, or join the Pilates classes, group fitness sessions and personal training programmes. Private and group swimming classes that cater to every age group are also available. If you’re game for a round of squash and tennis, the Club has a fraternity of active players that are just as passionate about the sport as they are about the ensuing beer at the Union Bar.

For mums and kids

Enroll your little one in any of their weekly swimming, dance and martial arts classes. Then, sneak in some time to unwind at the spa, nail bar, hair salon or the Club Library when your child’s in class. Need to pick up a gift for a friend? Browse through the range of merchandise and gift ideas at the Club. What’s more, there’s a Youth Zone with a computer room for LAN gaming, Wii and Xbox, Lego play table and an arts and crafts room to keep kids occupied while you indulge in some well-deserved me-time.

Serious business

It’s not all fun and games at The American Club: the tranquil, adult-only Business Centre is outfitted with versatile meeting rooms and small, insulated offices for teleconference calls, work stations for complimentary use, scanning, printing and faxing services – perfect for work and meetings. There’s Wi-Fi all around the property, which means you can get connected from just about every corner. Those looking to network can tap into the affiliated associations like the American Association of Singapore, the American Women’s Association, and more.

Make merry

Of course, the Club celebrates many local and key US festivals including Independence Day, Canada Day and St. Patrick’s Day with much fanfare. Halloween is not complete without attending the Halloween Party at the Club where kids go trick or treating around the Clubhouse. The Club also has a full line-up of Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Party programmes, and helps to take the stress out of these occasions with a comprehensive festive takeaway guide complete with gift ideas for those who prefer to celebrate at home. Wine enthusiasts can also expect various wine dinners and sampling sessions held at the Club throughout the year – there are close to 30 events happening every year!

What members have to say

The team at The American Club works tirelessly to make every visit a memorable experience. Here’s what their members think about Club life:

Juliet Ward says, “We very much enjoy being members of The American Club and couldn’t imagine living in Singapore without it. We have been particularly impressed with the swimming and tennis programmes, and the highlight of our last year was definitely the 80s party!”

For Wei Hu, who moved to Singapore from Hong Kong for three years, The American Club has been a pivotal part of the local experience. “My family has enjoyed the restaurants, shops and other facilities of The Club. Our son joined many youth classes and summer programmes. We will bring the good memories of Singapore American Club back to our home in Hong Kong.”

Melissa Spiotta declared that The Club has become a part of her daily life. “Like many other members, I spend a ton of time at the club,” she says. “Daily breakfast at the Eagle’s Nest, recumbent bike or reformer Pilates at the fitness centre, time in the Library or Business Centre… and that’s all before 10am. Although the facilities and offerings are what bring us in, it is the people that make it worthwhile.”

For a limited time only

The American Club celebrates its 68th birthday this year, and in the lead up to the launch of Phase 1 of the Clubhouse redevelopment project, is offering a very special promotion.

From 1 July to 30 September 2016, The Club is giving away $5,000 in club credits to each of the first 68 new Ordinary or Service membership applicants. Terms and conditions apply.
