Resale flat prices fell slightly in 2016, revealed HDB data.

Prices of HDB resale flats fell by 0.1 percent for the whole of 2016, according to flash estimates of the Resale Price Index (RPI).

Resale flat prices for the fourth quarter of 2016 also dropped by 0.1 percent from the previous three-month period. More detailed data for Q4 will be released on 26 January.

The RPI, which is published every quarter by the Housing Board, provides information on the general price movements in the resale public housing market.

Meanwhile, about 17,000 new flats will be launched for sale in 2017, said the HDB. The first Build-To-Order (BTO) exercise in February will see some 4,100 flats being offered in Clementi, Punggol, Tampines and Woodlands.
