We own a unit here for a few years now and have stayed in a variety of landed, private and HDB housing and hope to give a first hand view of this estate.
We would rate it well for the following reasons:
1) It is set in a quiet lane off the main roads and amenities surrounding it.
2) It is a 150m walk to 2 MRT lines, 20+ bus services around it and if you drive is 0.5km to the PIE.
4) Developments around it have been completed, it is fringed by condos mostly occupied by families and expats
5) It is 200m to the Geylang Park connector, one can cycle/run to the Sports Hub (2.5km), East Coast Park (3km) or Downtown office areas
6) The residents/ tenants go about their own affairs, are quiet and mostly courteous; we have not had any bad experiences or feedback of noise etc.
7) It is a 200 m walk to supermarkets (Giant/Cold Storage), shopping centres (Paya Lebar Square, City Plaza, One KM etc), Haig Road Food Centre and a variety of eateries and shops.
8) It is a freehold property and the current MC are nice folks and most live on the property
The not so good are as follows:
1) It is at the (quiet) end of Geylang Road and may put off some people; the area is slated for rejuvenation and the past image of the 'busy' end further away, should improve
2) The cleaners clear up to a set schedule so overall neatness depends on time of visit. The bin area site-ing could be improved but the general area and lifts are well kept and on par if not better than most small developments
3) The pool/ children's play area is hardly used which means it's like your own area if you use these. Due to the construction next door preiously, some debris/dust fell over, but all seems OK now.
Sims Dorado is a pleasant estate to stay in if you like peace/quiet and like to have connectivity and convenience; it probably has great potential for rental or own stay and can only steadily increase in value given it's current low pricing compared to similar estates.

Convenience meets luxury
I just purchased a unit there. It is so convenient as it is only 1 minute walk from Pala Leybar station. Also, the unit i purchased is so nicely renovated, no hassle when i moved in.
