We've been living here for most of the last 10 years. Since the new Circle Line MRT station opened at Haw Par Villa the public transport has improved tremendously. There are so many feeder buses that you can manage very well without a car. It's always easy to get a taxi too.
The building is fairly well maintained, and the units are much more spacious than the newer buildings. Clementi Woods and West Coast parks are close by, as is the PCN. Recent road improvements mean that traffic is not an issue.
The gym and pool are in good shape for a condo over 10 years old. The pool is very well kept and there's an excellent BBQ area at one end. Great for entertaining friends.
No students in this condo as the rental is too high I think. Some expat teaching staff from NUS live here though.
Enough parking these days as some of the residents who live in tenanted units don't have cars.
Property manager just changed again. Last one was useless.

The Spectrum
Built between the West Coast Highway and Pasir Panjang Road, The Sepctrum is very near to one of the main entrances of NUS. Efficient squarish layouts and simple architectural designs

great location, great value
love this place for the great location, and convenience. It's a short ride to Vivocity and a lot of food stalls just around the corner like Cheese Prata, 24-h MacDonalds. A plus is the short walk to enjoy West Coast Park. Great for families to balance both nature and city-living.
The only downside is it does not have full condo facilities like tennis courts...but if you are a pool and gym person, then it can definitely satisfy.

Good value for money
Among the condo. around this district, it seems that Spectrum's asking price of around S$800+ psf seems reasonable given that it freehold and 3 over years old. The place has good quality finishes and transport to Clementi MRT and Habourfront MRT is easy and a breeze.
It is a good home to come back to after a hard day's work. Food can be bought from opposite the street, 24 hrs McDonald is nearby at the West Coast Park, and so is Cold Storage, NTUC and the wet market.

only if price is really good
it is sort of middle of nowhere....unless you are a student of NUS, it is hard to appreciate this place. But if you like it peaceful and you can get at low prices, its probably a good place to stay. Rental is low, because the only targets are likely students. will only recommend if under 720psf. some sellers are asking 1000psf...i mean this is a very silly asking price. why would anyone be in the right mind to buy at that price when further west we have full facilities new condo at 800psf and nearer to town we have good locations asking 990psf?
