As a foreigner, can I still buy commercial properties after the new RPA change that deem "commercial and residential" land as residential? If it only requires another layer of approval, how much additional time does it take?

Hi, Yes you can purchase commercial properties that are purely based on commercial, for those under residential, you will have to apply to LDAU and wait for an approval which usually takes around 3-6months.

You can look into purely commercial properties instead. For those with residential quarters with land title, you will require to apply for LDAU approval. This process can take as fast as 1 month if all the necessary documents required have been submitted.

If you purchasing commercial properties with residential quarters with land title, you will require to apply for LDAU approval. For purely commercial properties, no LDAU approval required.
