Dear Guru,

I bought my flat in Dec 2009 and I am planning to relocate to India this year end. Can I rent out my flat from Dec 2010? Thank you for your responses.

Hi Raghu,

if your unit is a HDB flat, you need to get approval from HDB to rent out as Nelson has suggested. Do not forget your Minimum Occupation Period, during your rental of unit, the entire period is not counted.

You can rent whole flat while you are in overseas. You can get approval based on your overseas job and you need to provide document for it.

due to the fact that you will be relocated to India, you should be able to get the approval from HDB to rent out your house.
