Hi all,

I own a 5 room at sengkang who i bought from HDB. If i am to sell it and buy a resale 5 room at punggol,do I need to pay levy? What about getting new 5 room from HDB, do I need to pay levy too? Pls advise.

Hi Mr Tai,

It seems that you are troubled by the question you post. In fact the answer is very simple. The fact that the current 5 rm is bought from HDB direct , you are definitely subject to resale levy. If you are sure that you are going to get another new flat from HDB I would suggest you to pay up the levy. If you are getting a resale flat you can opt not to pay the levy first till you decide to apply for a second new flat. In another words as long as you don't apply for new flat you are not oblige to pay the levy. Of course be it you get new flat or resale flat you are only eiligible for HDB loan if you get an Exec flat, if you get 5rm and below you need to take up bank loan . You need to do a proper financial calculation before carry out changing of house. Hope that this will answer your queries and I hope I can be of your service in term of buying and selling.
