Hi Gurus, we are renting a landed property. Our landlords are generally very nice and responsive. However, we have been having problems with our water for a long time. The water is yellow - according to the plumber the tanks and some pipes are rusted. When we renewed our lease, the owners promised to fix this. We're now almost 6 months later, and despite several emails reminding them, nothing has happened. We even got a quote for them, but they wouldn't approve the work. To make it clear, we don't want to break the lease, but we do need this fixed. We're drinking this water and it shouldn't become a health issue. How can we force our landlords to finally fix this? Can we withold our rental payments until it's fixed? Or can we have it fixed ourselves and deduct the amount from our rent? Please advise. Thanks
