Weird, usually I refer my own trusted bankers to deal with my clients, this ensures that service quality is maintained throughout.

There could be many reasons why your agent is doing such 1) He wants you to get official answers from HDB instead of being responsible for the info he is going to give to you.

2) He's unsure of your questions. HDB has a slew of policies and to memorize all of them is quite taxing.

3) I don't understand what you mean by 'Hired an agent to buy..." Did you sign an exclusive?

Hi Damsel,

With the story cut short, what I feel about the agent you have engaged is that he/she may reckon that you may feel uncomfortable in disclosing your financial health for the purchase, thus leaving you the freedom to engage in a trusted banker you may have.

As for getting information and such from HDB, it will be great if you can define what are the exact information you have to get from HDB since alot of times, we are required to make use of our Singpass to extract certain information from HDB.

Based on your story cut short, I am afraid that I won't be able to back you fully since I do not have the full picture.
