Hi Jon,

There is only one rule that affect you as a non citizen of Singapore.
You are not eligible to get a landed property prior to approval from the related government agencies. Other than that and your bank loan eligibility, you are good to go.

And if you are looking at rental income for Singapore, I would recommend areas in Tanjong Pagar, The Icon being one of them. Given the low interest rate condition in Singapore, you will be getting an annual ROI of 8% from your investment.

Morning Jon,

You are allowed to purchase private properties that's classified as condo projects. There are some townhouses or terrace house, located in condo projects, hence not classified as landed.
For rental investment, you would need to know which class of tenants are you looking at, before you start the shopping.
West side is more for shipping and construction industries, East is more for students and aviation, Central is more for Office Executives, North is more for Boarding schools, Biochem, etc.
