Are you not able to pay the stamp duty at all or is it a matter of timing? If you do not have funds for the stamp duty, and you have exercised the Option To Purchase, you will be liable to pay damages to the seller of the property as you are deemed to have entered into a legal binding agreement to purchase the property and cannot back out.

If you do not have sufficient funds to pay the buyers stamp duty then you will not be able to purchase a property. If you are selling a property, then you can wait till the sale proceeds is back before you proceed with your purchase.
