BCA awards environmentally aware developers

The Building and Construction Authority or BCA will be sponsoring a commencement: Green and Gracious Builder’s Award. This award seeks to bring out the environmental awareness of developers when they are constructing their projects.

To earn such prestigious award, they should have achieved these standards: green practices, innovation and courtesy in reducing problems, hassles or difficulty to those residing in close proximity to the site. The award will not only be awarded to an “excellent” nominee, but will also give out a “merit” award for another nominee. There are 14 builders who have the chance to be rewarded with an “excellent” and “merit” award.

These 14 builders have shown the qualifications mentioned above, for them to have a chance to receive such awards. Builders have decreased their construction clatters, developed some sort of relationship and understanding with the people who are living within the vicinity of the construction site and have been concerned with their employees’ wellbeing.

BCA have specially mentioned one of the candidates, Gammon Pte Ltd. Gammon Pte Ltd have performed well in green activities as it promotes proper environmental practices in disciplining all their employees to be energy-proficient at all of their projects.

"We hope that more builders will join in to become a green and gracious builder," Building and Construction Authority’s director of technology development, Tan Tiang Chong shares. The awards will be handed out by the Senior Minister of State for National Development, Grace Fu. The inaugural event will be held on Wednesday.
