Singapore’s Raffles Hotels and Resorts keep on a spirited development, which may bring forth 30 hotels in 2012 on several cities including Kuala Lumpur, San Francisco and New York.
“As a brand, Raffles has tremendous potential for global expansion. We’re not yet represented in certain capital cities like New York, San Francisco, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Kuala Lumpur,” announced by Diana Ee-Tan, outgoing president of Raffles Hotels and Resorts.
To be launched by the end of the year, two properties in Europe has already been signed.
In one year and 10 months, there have been a total of fifteen hotels and resorts included to the latest accumulations such as Raffles Olympia resort, the first project of the company in Greece. This goes the same for Los Cabos, Mexico, and Sanya, China. A total of eight hotels are now in service.
Mrs. Ee-Tan stated that speaking of partners, tough chances have aroused that goes together with the Raffles brand in the last two years. Normally, properties of Raffles have a propensity of having 150 to 200 rooms, and are known for great service, method and lavishness.
However, ever since the explosion of the global recession, Raffles’ growth may slow down significantly. Raffles have three properties scheduled to launch in 2009 and four in 2010. Postponement may occur, however, if the company will have to face financial matters or if property owners query on the date of commencements.
