K2LD Architects Receive Fiabci Award

21 Oct 2009

K2LD Architects, an architectural firm based in Singapore, bagged a Fiabci Award for its newest project in hotel innovation, the G Hotel in Malaysia.

According to K2LD, the G Hotel received a Malaysia Property Award in the hotel category of the world-renown Fiabci Awards 2008.

The France-based Fiabci, a group of property industry authorities and professionals, has its own Malaysian arm which awards the country’s outstanding industry leaders and developers annually.

Ko Shiou Hee, K2LD director, claimed that the company had no idea at all when it started working on the G hotel account. The project only revolved around the brief of the client as the firm tried to exhaust all available resources, still striving for innovation. As a result, the firm came up with a hotel with 304 rooms categorized into seven unique room types and has other amenities such as the pool, spa and gym.

G Hotel Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Etika Cekap, owns and operates the said property.

Mister Ko and his team were really meticulous about this project and it took them more than two years to finish the slightest details – from the furnishing up to the bathroom flourishes.

Established in 1998, K2LD currently has offices in Singapore, Melbourne and Shanghai and has worked on high-rise, residential and even private homes in these places.
