11 Oct 2010

Property developer CapitaLand has distributed about $3.2 billion to shareholders through an in-specie and dividends distribution over the last ten years, while total shareholder return stands at $11.9 billion, an increase of 172 percent.

The group has also recorded a total net profit of $7.5 billion, said Liew Mun Leong, chief executive and president of the group at the CapitaLand Investor Day, one of the activities celebrating CapitaLand’s 10th anniversary.

The investor day event targeted retail investors and included presentations by senior management of CapitaLand on the group’s strategies and activities.

“CapitaLand celebrates its 10th anniversary this year as a leading Asian real estate company that has consistently created sustainable shareholder value. Investor Day has been a great success at increasing investor access to management and helping us connect better with our investors, particularly retail shareholders,” said Mr. Liew.

Mr. Liew also launched a commemorative book titled “10 Years: Building People”, which details the company’s transformation over the past ten years.

Held at Resorts World Sentosa, the event was attended by nearly 1,500 CapitaLand shareholders.

Aside from the Investor Day, the group has been reaching out to shareholders through annual general meetings, investor conferences, face-to-face investor meetings, teleconferences, site visits and roadshows.
