Keppel Land Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Keppel Corporation, has been named most admired ASEAN enterprise under the Corporate Social Responsibility category at the ASEAN Business Awards 2010.

Organised in conjunction with the 16th ASEAN Summit, the award took place in Hanoi, Vietnam on October 27. It honours companies who have contributed to ASEAN’s economic growth and progress.

Keppel Land CEO Kevin Wong, who received the award on behalf of the company, said: “Keppel Land aims to achieve positive and sustainable outcomes for our business, the environment and the community, wherever we operate, through balancing social responsibility with commercial viability.”

“As a developer with landmark properties across Asia, we have a responsibility to ensure optimal live-work-play environments which contribute to improving and enriching lives and communities,” he added.

The company has engaged several Asian communities through a diversity of activities and programmes that support health, education, arts and philanthropic movements.

Keppel Land has also reached out to the less privileged people in Singapore through Keppel Volunteers, the company’s volunteer programme where staff are encouraged to join in activities organised in collaboration with adopted charity – the Association for People with Special Needs.

The annual ASEAN Business Awards was organised by the ASEAN Business Advisory Council. The result of the awards were based on the evaluations and findings by independent strategic partner KPMG in several areas including communication of CSR, framework for CSR, implementation and measurement, and the following of international guidelines.
