A total of 33 black and white bungalows situated in the Mount Pleasant area have been put up for rent by the Singapore Land Authority (SLA), with sizes ranging from 1,500 sq m to 18,000 sq m, and a gross floor area of between 210 sq m and 1,140 sq m.
Approved for residential use, these colonial bungalows will be offered for an initial three-year tenancy with a guide rent of $488,300 a month. The tenant has an option to renew the rent for two more three-year terms.
Overall, the bungalows occupy a total land area of about 181,600 sq m and a maximum gross floor area of 17,300 sq m.
“The black and white bungalows, a charming throwback to Singapore’s colonial past, are distinctive properties rich in historical value,” said the SLA. “Besides their architectural significance, the bungalows, set along tranquil and leafy Mount Pleasant Road, designated by the National Parks Board as a Heritage Road, also boast sprawling grounds filled with lush greenery.”
Among the terms, interested tenderers must have a minimum working capital of at least 50 percent of the annual rental of the state property according to the tender price, a proven cash flow record for the past two years, residential or related business for at least five years, have expertise in conservation and heritage preservation, and a proven track record in top-tier hospitality.
The tender for the properties will close on September 21.
