The Council for Estate Agencies (CEA) said it had not yet updated some registration applications as it had misplaced them.
There were 125 affected applications, which have not been updated in the Public Register of the CEA, it said in a statement.
"CEA is working with the affected salespersons to register them as soon as possible,” it said. “CEA apologises for the inconvenience caused by its administrative oversight in these cases.”
As a “gesture of goodwill”, salespersons and estate agencies with pending submissions or those with applications that are not in order will be given provisional licences and registration until January 31.
So far, CEA has approved 1,288 of the 1,404 applications for estate-agency licences and 28,766 of the 31,288 salesperson-registration applicants while 786 applications were rejected.
The remaining 1,736 applications were either pending due to late submission, or are waiting for further submissions or clarification of information.
