2 CapitaLand projects win design awards

Two CapitaLand projects, The Seafront on Meyer and RiverGate, have won accolades at the Singapore Institute of Landscape Architects (SILA) Professional Design Awards 2011, which recognises and celebrates outstanding work in landscape architecture.

“We are delighted that CapitaLand projects have clinched both the awards in the Residential Design Category,” said Wong Heang Fine, CEO of CapitaLand Residential Singapore. “The two awards are testament of our continuing efforts in elevating our benchmark to deliver. We congratulate our partners for these two projects for their win and commend them for their creativity and professionalism in achieving the accolade not only for themselves but for the home buyers as well.”

A 24-storey freehold development, The Seafront on Meyer comprises three towers set in a lush tropical landscape, which is also home to many mature trees that were conserved. It is surrounded by a series of connected gardens that create distinctive spaces within a verdant environment of shady trees, exotic plants and water features.

Meanwhile, the 545-unit RiverGate freehold project comprises three blocks of 43-storey towers, each standing against an urban landscape. One of the key green features is a series of Sky Gardens, which give the project a green, unique appearance on Singapore’s skyline.

For the project’s landscaping, organic curved lines, symbolising a flowing river, stretch from the river’s edge into the development.

“For both projects, aside from aesthetics, the landscaping has broken new ground. It offers homeowners another dimension to condominium living; one in which homeowners can fully enjoy the benefits of the natural environment right at their door-step,” noted Wong.
