Mainboard-listed construction group Tiong Seng Holdings Ltd has clinched a S$147 million contract from the Housing and Development Board (HDB) for the construction of the 804-unit Waterway Terraces II in Punggol West.

“We are extremely happy to have the opportunity to work with HDB again,” said Pek Lian Guan, Chief Executive of Tiong Seng Holdings.

Located along the northern bank of My Waterway@Punggol, the premium project comprises 246 five-room, 440 four-room and 118 three-room flats. The new development will mirror the design of its predecessor, Waterway Terraces I, an award-winning project that Tiong Seng has been working on since the second quarter of this year.

Tiong Seng’s contract with HDB includes the construction of electrical substations, a rain garden, green front, basement car parks, external works and related civil engineering works.

The project will be designed with eco-friendly features, in line with HDB’s plans to develop Punggol as an Eco-Town. It has already been conferred the Green Mark (Platinum) Award from the Building & Construction Authority (BCA) for its green features. Both Waterway Terraces developments are designed with the same terraced roof gardens, offering panoramic views of the waterway and featuring amenities for relaxation and play.

“The eco-features of this project play a part towards the sustainable environment by enabling energy and water usage efficiency. With a strong portfolio of green buildings in Singapore, Tiong Seng will be able to leverage on its expertise in this field to oversee and manage the entire construction process,” said Pek.
