The S$2 billion Parkway Novena Hospital, the most expensive private hospital to be built in Singapore in the last 30 years, is scheduled to open in the second half of 2012.

According to The Straits Times, the hospital will feature 333 single-bed wards and the latest medical equipment.

The hospital will specialise in vascular and heart disease treatments, while offering neurosciences, orthopaedics and general surgery services.

The medical facility has been acknowledged for its eco-friendly features with a Green Mark Platinum certification from the Building and Construction Authority (BCA).

Parkway Novena Hospital will also be the first private hospital to utilise a 100 percent paperless, electronic system.

Parkway Pantai Chairman, Mohammed Azlan Hashim, commented that the hospital will be the group’s “crown jewel” and will enhance its network of hospitals, including Gleneagles Hospital, Mount Elizabeth Hospital and Parkway East Hospital.
