18 Oct 2011

Westin Hotels & Resorts will open The Westin Xi’an on 1 December 2011, marking its first foray into the Shaanxi province of China.

“We are delighted to introduce the Westin brand to Xi’an! The location of this hotel in one of the most important cities in Chinese history (Xi’an has often been lauded the national history museum of China) also reinforces Westin’s positioning around personal renewal by offering guests the services, products and amenities that allow them to relax and rejuvenate during their stay,” said Magdy Anis, General Manager of The Westin Xi’an.

Located in the Qujiang tourism district, The Westin Xi’an features 329 rooms and 32 one- to two-bedroom apartments. The spacious accommodations are tastefully designed and equipped with flat-screen LCD TVs, rainforest showers, personal refreshment centres, extra-large closets and Westin’s signature Heavenly beds.

The hotel is situated directly across from the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, which was built more than 1,000 years ago. It is also within close proximity to the train station and the Xi’an Xianyang International Airport.

In addition, The Westin Xi’an features various restaurants and lounges, including Seasonal Tastes, Five Sen5es, Mai, Daily Treats, Lobby Lounge and SuperFoods Rx.

“With economic progress and industrial development in the last few years as well as a focus on developing Xi’an as a destination city, corporate and meetings demand in Xi’an has grown at a steady pace, in addition to the existing leisure demand,” said Anis.

“We are confident that the entry of Westin is timely and will serve to meet the growing room and meeting demands in this market.”
