Baha Mar, a US$3.5 billion resort complex on the Caribbean island of The Bahamas, has opened an Asia Pacific office in Hong Kong with the aim of boosting its sales and marketing operations in the region.
“Our expansion into Asia, and particularly into China, is further evidence of our commitment to the region and the strengthening of our unique and valuable relationships with our Chinese partners,” said Richard English, Senior Vice President for Baha Mar.
The 1,000 acre mega project will comprise a resort plus gaming and entertainment complex, and is set to open in late 2014. It will feature some of the world’s most famous hotel brands, including Casino Hotel, Morgans Hotel Group, Hyatt Hotels & Resorts and Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, creating around 2,250 new rooms within four spectacular new hotels.
In addition, the project’s 100,000 sq ft casino will be the largest in the Caribbean and will feature the largest convention centre in The Bahamas.
Meanwhile, Baha Mar’s opening of the Hong Kong office is yet another step in strengthening its ties with the city. Located at the International Finance Centre, the new office will be managed by Mabel Chau, Regional Director of Sales and Marketing for the Asia Pacific.
“A physical presence in Hong Kong allows us to more efficiently support marketing efforts in the region, promote The Bahamas in general and our project in particular,” said English.
