Jones Lang to manage The Pelican Krabi

29 Sep 2011

Global property services firm Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) has entered into an agreement to manage The Pelican Krabi, a new luxury development located in an area which has become Krabi’s new millionaire mile.

“As we want to ensure that the property and its owners are well looked after, we chose Jones Lang LaSalle to manage The Pelican Krabi,” said Andrew Ngamsappasilp, Chief Executive Officer of developer Perry Group International.

“We believe the company understands what level of service is required, and can provide expert guidance in the field of juristic management. In addition, Jones Lang LaSalle is a strong international property management brand and our customers, many of whom are overseas buyers, will recognise it and see that we have considered high-standard after-sales service for them.”

Situated on 52,800 sq m of oceanfront land on the west coast of Krabi in Thailand, the luxury development comprises three phases, with the first phase, which is expected to be completed in mid-2012, featuring 90 one- to three-bedroom condo units, priced between THB six million (US$192,493) and THB 14 million (US$449,150).

Meanwhile, the remaining two phases will include 40 villas and a five-star hotel. Upon completion, it will also feature resort facilities such as a fitness centre, meeting facilities, a snack bar and free-form swimming pool.

“We are expecting Krabi to become more popular over the next few years as it has increasingly been recognised as an alternative destination from Phuket and Samui, which are both established destinations,” said Dexter Norville, Head of Estate Management for JLL.

He noted that JLL is pleased to have been awarded the contract to manage the property, as it marks the firm’s first appointment in Krabi.

He added that the “growing reputation of Krabi and the international airport will help bring more tourist arrivals each year. Thais and foreigners alike looking to purchase a holiday home or retire in Thailand may well choose Krabi.”

Krabi is only an hour’s flight from Bangkok and is serviced by an international airport with daily direct flights to and from major cities throughout Asia, Australia and Europe.
