Mixed-use projects getting more popular

12 Sep 2011

Mixed-use developments are increasingly popular among property buyers in Singapore whose busy schedules have lead to the demand of facilities for leisure, work and living, all in one destination.

Additionally, mixed-use concepts provide the developers a unique way to optimise and diversify land use, particularly in areas where land is a premium.

In Singapore, the utmost growth potential for mixed-use developments is in suburban locations, such as Jurong and in the east.

Lower building costs for suburban residences has been the government’s key driver to dynamically support the development of both the central and outlying areas.

However, this may not interest some young professionals and businesses, due to the prestige attached to owning a property within the central business district (CBD).

Given strong government support, mixed-use projects will keep investors interested and give a wide variety of options.
