CapitaLand has officially unveiled Raffles City Chengdu (pictured), an integrated development in the city’s central business district (CBD).

Sprawled over 30,000 sq m, Raffles City Chengdu features a shopping mall, international Grade A offices, hotel and serviced residences, as well as luxury residential units.

In his welcome speech, Lim Ming Yan, Chief Operating Officer at CapitaLand, noted that the mixed-use project is “the largest Raffles City development in China to date; it involved some of the most complex construction techniques and encompasses the most diversified real estate types”.

Designed by renowned architect Steven Holl, Raffles City Chengdu boasts artistic and cultural elements brought together by “scientific design, dynamic function and green features”. As a result, the project was conferred the LEED Gold Pre-Certification by the US Green Building Council (USGBC).

In addition, the project’s location at the intersection of South Renmin Road and First Ring Road provides easy access to transport links such as the subway.

Construction began in January 2008 and the topping out ceremony took place in September last year.
