The e-application exercise for SkyPark Residences, the seventh and last executive condominium (EC) to launch in 2013, closed on Sunday attracting over 1,600 applications, or more than three times the 506 units available.
Jointly developed by JBE Holdings and Keong Hong Holdings, SkyPark Residences is likely the most popular EC in 2013 based on the number of applications received, the highest for the year.
Located in Sembawang, it is also the first project of its kind in the area with units ranging from three- to five-bedroom apartments and five-bedroom maisonettes.
Commenting on the profile of buyers, a spokesperson for the developers said: "The applicants comprise HDB upgraders islandwide (with a high proportion of those in Sembawang and other HDB estates in the north), young married couples, as well as larger and multi-generational families. Most of the applicants seem to be looking for bigger units, either to house bigger families or multi-generational families."
Facilities include a 100-metre SkyPark that comes with a jogging track, sky lounge, dining terrace and children’s playground. Additionally, more than 30 percent of ground-level common spaces comprise water features.
Sales bookings for the project will open on 16 November.
With SkyPark Residences, there would be 3,337 EC units put on sale in the market this year, of which out of the 2,458 (discounting SkyPark Residences’ 506 units and Waterwoods’ 373 units as they are not on sale as yet until November) EC units launched so far, more than 1,800 units (or more than 73 percent) were already sold as at end August. This represents a strong demand for ECs in 2013.
