A luxury apartment in Perth, Western Australia has been put up for sale at A$2.7 million (S$3.45 million), but what makes the home stand out is that it’s the set for the new movie Son of a Gun, starring actor Ewan McGregor.

Famous for his roles in Trainspotting, Star Wars and Moulin Rouge, the popular star reportedly enjoyed the vista from Apartment 16 at The Islands complex, according to media reports.

“We loved our time filming at Islands, the view from apartment sixteen was stunning and it was in such a great location with Fremantle just down the road,” said a spokesperson for the production.

“The apartment was always filled with natural light which made filming easy and we certainly never got sick of standing on the balcony looking at the water!”

Stockland WA general manager residential Col Dutton said they were honoured to be part of such a high-profile film.

“The three-bedroom apartment chosen for Son of a Gun, has floor-to-ceiling windows in both the living room and master bedroom, providing 180-degree views of Carnac Island all the way up to Fremantle,” he said.

“It was the perfect location to showcase the iconic WA coastline to movie-goers across the world.”

To date, over 70 percent of beach homes and apartments at The Islands project have been snapped up.
