Shunfu HUDC estate privatised

1 Apr 2013

By Romesh Navaratnarajah:

After almost 12 years of trying, Shunfu HUDC estate (pictured) has finally undergone privatisation to become a strata-titled property, said the Housing and Development Board (HDB).

The estate comprises 358 flats spread across Blocks 314, 315, 316, 317, 318 and 319 Shunfu Road.

Following the privatisation exercise, households now own their respective units as well as common spaces like landscaped areas and car parks.

Meanwhile, Bishan-Toa Payoh Town Council will no longer be responsible for the management and maintenance of the estate’s common spaces.

Since 1995, the government has been privatising HUDC estates to provide Singaporeans the chance to own private homes and independently manage their surroundings.
