The number of resident Singaporean households who own their homes climbed to 1.06 million last year from 1.04 million in 2012, while home ownership rate remained at 90 percent during the last two years, showed figures from the National Population and Talent Division (NPTD) in media reports.

33 percent of the resident household in 2013 live in HDB four-room flats, making it the most common type of dwelling still.

HDB five-room and executive flats came in next, followed by HDB three-room flats.

Notably, around 82 percent of the resident population or 3.15 million residents live in HDB flats as of this year, with Punggol having the highest proportion of HDB dwellers, followed by Woodlands.

Meanwhile, 12 percent of the resident households lived in condominiums and other apartments last year, while six percent lived in landed properties.

In 2013, the average resident household size stood at 3.5 persons.

Resident households are where two or more individuals live together and share common arrangements such as food, led by a Singapore citizen or Permanent Resident (PR).
