Northpoint City, an upcoming integrated development by Frasers Centrepoint in Nee Soon, will breathe a new lease of life into the district.
The mega project will include the largest mall in northern Singapore, a residential development North Park Residences, the first Community Club to be located in a shopping mall, a roof-top community garden, and a new town plaza.
At the launch of the Northpoint City Exhibition on 1 August, Group CEO of Frasers Centrepoint Lim Ee Seng said, “Residents at North Park Residences will not only get to enjoy the lifestyle choices and great convenience that Northpoint City offers, they will also benefit from what Nee Soon offers. These include good schools, recently upgraded parks, advanced medical facilities as well as an abundance of recreational clubs and amenities.”
North Park Residences consists of 12 blocks of 10-storey private residences, with 920 units ranging from studio apartments to five-bedroom units.
Due to the desirable living lifestyle that comes with residing in an integrated development, Lim anticipates good demand for the condominium although a 20 to 30 percent premium is expected.
Northpoint City will also offer seamless connectivity with an Integrated Transport Hub (ITH), comprising a direct underpass linked to the Yishun MRT station, and an air-conditioned bus interchange.
It will also have new pedestrian bridges which will offer barrier-free access to the entire development, along with another overhead bridge which will connect Norhtpoint City to Yishun Town Centre.
With more than double the current retail stores at Northpoint Shopping Centre, Northpoint City will have the largest mall in the north with over 500 retail outlets spanning an estimated 850,000 sq ft gross floor area (including the existing Northpoint Shopping Centre).
Besides retail and dining options, the development will also house a childcare centre and the existing Yishun Public Library.
Northpoint Shopping Centre was Singapore’s first heartland shopping mall when it opened in 1992.
Under HDB’s Remaking Our Heartland initiatives, Nee Soon was earmarked as one of the towns undergoing a series of transformations to improve the living environment of residents.
To introduce residents to Northpoint City, an exhibition at Northpoint Shopping Centre, which was launched by the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Law, Mr K. Shanmugam, is held to showcase the various components of the project.
