SGX welcomes Chinese developer

8 Aug 2014

China-based property player Chiwayland International Ltd traded on the main board of the Singapore Exchange (SGX) for the first time on Wednesday.

The company also embarked on its maiden overseas foray in Brisbane, Australia via a 50:50 joint venture with Property Solutions Pty Ltd, a Brisbane-based developer.

Comprising apartments and commercial space, the collaboration involves three property projects costing about AU$160 million (S$185 million) in Nundah and Toowong town areas within Brisbane.

“The listing has opened up new horizons in the international arena for Chiwayland, and our co-development projects in Brisbane with Property Solutions lead the way for the Group’s overseas expansion,” said Chiwayland CEO and Executive Chairman Kevin Qian Jianrong.
