GuocoLand appoints new MD for Singapore

Cheng Hsing Yao was appointed Managing Director of GuocoLand Group’s Singapore property division earlier this month.

With more than 16 years of experience in real-estate, urban planning and architecture, Cheng is now responsible for the company’s operations and management.

He was previously GuocoLand Limited’s Managing Director (Group Project Office) from October 2013 to July 2014; and he was also GuocoLand Singapore’s Chief Operating Officer from October 2012 to September 2013, where he oversaw the company’s key projects in Singapore, Malaysia, China and Vietnam.

Prior to joining GuocoLand, Cheng served in the public sector which included being Deputy Executive Director of the Centre for Liveable Cities (CLC), Deputy Director of Urban Design at the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) as well as Head of Marina Bay Development Agency.

According to media reports, Cheng’s appointment replaces the company’s previous group managing director Margaret Goh, who has relinquished her duties.

The public-listed company’s latest projects include Leedon Residence, Goodwood Residence, and Clermont Residence.
