A new mobile app created for the upcoming Municipal Services Office (MSO) will make it easier for the public to provide feedback on municipal issues.
According to media reports, Singaporeans can use the app to report municipal problems directly to the MSO. For example, citizens can tap on features like geo-tagging, and use photographs to better illustrate the issue they are reporting.
However, it is uncertain when the app will be launched.
The MSO, which will be a part of the Ministry of National Development (MND), was announced by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong at the National Day Rally this year. It aims to improve coordination and delivery of municipal services by government agencies, and give an easier solution when members of the public are unsure of who to call to resolve complex municipal cases involving multiple agencies.
The office, headed by Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office Grace Fu, will be set up on 1 October.
