MacPherson flats popular among BTO applicants

Flats at MacPherson Spring (pictured) are expected to be the hottest among applicants in this month’s Build-To-Order (BTO) exercise, said experts quoted in the media.

The project’s popularity could be attributed to its good location. Specifically, the project is situated within the mature town of Geylang and is within walking distance to MacPherson MRT station.

MacPherson Spring saw 386 applicants for its 378 four-room units as at 5 pm last Wednesday.

The project also recorded 51 applicants for its 204 three-room flats and 59 applicants for its 168 studio apartments.

Experts also expect the two projects in Hougang – which include two-roomers which are in demand from singles – to be popular. As at 5 npm on 11 February, there were 2.3 singles vying for each of the two-room flats in Hougang, up from 0.8 singles competing for each of the two-room flats in Bukit Batok.

Applications will close by Tuesday midnight. The next launch will be held in May, featuring 4,040 new flats in Clementi, Punggol North, Sembawang and Tampines. About 4,000 to 5,000 flats will be offered in a concurrent Sale of Balance Flats (SBF) exercise.
