By 2018, a new iconic integrated development will change the face of Nee Soon, one of Singapore’s earliest townships developed in the late 1970s.
Boasting about 1.33 million sq ft of gross floor area, Northpoint City will be a one-stop destination for all lifestyle needs, from retail and grocery shopping to dining and community activities.
Here are some key facts on Northpoint City.
An icon of Yishun
Northpoint City will include NorthPark Residences, a 12-block condominium comprising a mix of unit types from studios to five-bedrooms totaling 920 units, a 500-outlet shopping mall spanning an estimated 850,000 sq ft – the largest in the north, a first-of-its-kind community club within a shopping mall spread over 4,000 sqm, and a 4,400 sqm town plaza the size of 10 basketball courts that can host cultural and community events.
Seamless connectivity
Commuters will benefit from the integrated transport hub, comprising a direct shopping underpass connecting Yishun MRT station with Northpoint City, an air-conditioned bus interchange, sheltered parking for 300 bicycles and over 1,000 car park lots in the vicinity. New sheltered pedestrian bridges will offer barrier-free acess across Yishun Avenue 2 and to Yishun Town Centre. Come 2020, the upcoming North-South Expressway and Thomson MRT Line will also offer seamless transport connectivity to Northpoint City.
Lifestyle destination
Northpoint City will house the largest mall in the North with over 500 retail outlets, more than double the current retail stores at Northpoint Shopping Centre. Touted as a family destination, there will be a childcare centre, a community garden on the roof-top, the existing Yishun Public Library, children’s play areas and a community club.
