URA to get four new board members

Four new members will be appointed to the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) board with effect from 1 April 2015, according to a statement from the government.

The four appointees are Khew Sin Khoon, president and chief executive officer, CPG Corporation, Chew Men Leong, chief executive, Land Transport Authority, Brenda Yeoh Saw Ai, Dean, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, National University of Singapore, and Cheong Wei Yang, Director, Planning, Ministry of Education.

Meanwhile, board chairman Peter Ho Hak Ean will be reappointed, along with eight others.

Three board members – Chan Sui Him, Anthony Kang Chiang Meng and Lionel Yeo Hung Tong will step down after their terms end on 31 March.

With these appointment changes the URA board will have 13 members, including its chairman Mr Ho. All the appointments will be for a three-year term until 31 March 2018.
