One agent, 800 kms to manage

Measuring 42 kilometres from tip to tip, Singapore is home to tens of thousands of real estate agents. From Bangkok to Phuket is 692 kilometres while Kuala Lumpur to Penang is a mere 354 kilometres.

Yet in Australia, real estate firm Raine & Horne have appointed one single agent, together with his Cessna 182 aircraft, to cover an area measuring some 800 kilometres in length in remote northwest Queensland.

The agency has secured the services of high-flying, northern Australian stock and station agent, Bram Pollock (pictured), to head up its new offices – Raine & Horne Rural Atherton and Raine & Horne Rural Julia Creek.

For the past 15 years Pollock has delivered rural real estate and stock trading services to local producers.

“Bram plans a rapid expansion which will involve delivering rural real estate services to a market which extends 800 kilometres from Julia Creek in Queensland’s far north west, to the fertile Atherton Tablelands on the east coast,” said Angus Raine, Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Raine & Horne Rural.

To underline his commitment to customer service and rural markets in Australia’s north, in 2011 Pollock secured the ownership of a Cessna 182.

“Via his trusty aircraft, Bram will not only service clients in Queensland but right across remote regions of Northern Australia,” noted Raine.

Pollock’s decision to link with Raine & Horne Rural, which launched offices in Sydney and Brisbane during 2014, is also a massive boost to the expansion of the rural brand nationally, according to Raine.

“Our core business has traditionally centred on livestock trading into feedlots, re-stockers, backgrounders and the live export trade. Yet over the past few years, we have increasingly focussed on the rural property business, which is why we have linked with Raine & Horne Rural,” said Pollock, a licenced real estate agent and auctioneer.

“I’ve enjoyed 15 years as a livestock trader and am always looking for additional opportunities to extend the reach of my business, which is why I am enthusiastic about the renewed focus on rural real estate.

“It’s a fresh brand that is new to northern Australia and it shares my passion for the far north.”
