SC Global, a developer known for spacious high-end homes, intends to build smaller residential units that are still premium quality, exclusive and posh.
These houses will be part of its newly launched luxury concept known as “Petit Collectibles”.

“SC Global’s apartments have often been referred to as ‘collectibles’ because they are limited in edition and refreshingly original in design,” said SC Global founder and chairman Simon Cheong.
The first project to be launched under the new concept is Petit Jervois, a freehold development with about 55 units comprising mostly one- and two-bedroom apartments sized between 800 sq ft and 1,000 sq ft.
Located on the former Jervois Gardens condominium site, which was acquired via en bloc sale for $72 million, Cheong said Petit Jervois will be SC Global’s first development in Singapore in three years.
Located at 33 Jervois Road at River Valley, Petit Jervois is expected to be unveiled by end-2018.
SC Global is known for its luxury projects like Sculptura Ardmore, Thre3 Robin and Martin No 38. It was also in the news for building high-rise mansions at The Marq.
While the company had previously built larger homes like in Ladyhill, where units measure from 2,300 to 2,400 sq ft on average, it had decided to venture into smaller homes due the trend where many young high-income earners in the US are moving back to cities. Similarly, the older generation are on the lookout for “pied-à-terre”, a second home in urban places.
“The market has changed, and people want higher-quality, smaller, compact units,” Cheong told the Business Times, adding that small homes at SC Global’s projects are fully sold.
Asked about the possible impact of the new property curbs, Cheong said he is optimistic that their developments can weather it.
“We are able to withstand the collateral damage,” he explained “People know we’re quality at the end of the day. We’ve maintained our prices… Quality will withstand the test of time.”
