    Large Freehold Value for Money Condo for Fami

    Characteristics Interior Large size units with proper backyard and kitchen. Efficient layout rooms. Exterior Meh landscape. Standard facilities. Walkable to great food, wet market and supermarket.

    Gem

    I have lived around the East side during the past 13 years of my stay in Singapore. This is one of the best condominiums I have stayed. Conveniently located close to the city. I cycle to work at times. Parkway Parade is a few bus stops away and Katong I12 is walkable. Super quite. Nice view. Friendly neighbours. Kids to keep my child company. Good schools and nice eating places on East Coast and Tanjong Katong road. What more can one ask for? There are no bus stops on Haig Road. But I enjoy the walk through the park to Tanjong Katong road. I hope the rentals stay low ;) The units used to be quite ex once. ~4500 for 3 BR. More affordable now.

    Best Value for a D15 Freehold

    Been searching extensively for a D15 condo for over 2 years and finally settled for Haig Court. Great size and layout, perfect for families. A 1500+ sqft unit easily feels like 1800 sqft. no bay windows, planters etc. Other condos in the vicinity pale in comparison. It's next to impossible getting this layout/size at this price level, let alone Freehold in D15. The peaceful surroundings and spanking new Gym definitely an added plus! If you love Katong, this is the place to spend quality family time. Last but not least, if you love cycling and satay, park connector takes you straight to Satay by the Bay, something to do on weekends. The only minus I can think of - with all the eateries around, watching your weight will be challenging.

    Excellent condo

    I live in Haig Court, really like it, just to share a few facts: 1. It is 10 to 12 minutes walk to 112 Katong, not 10 minutes drive. I often walk there for a late night movie with my wife, so I know. For elderly or kids, it may take slightly longer. In terms of actual walking distance, it is 977 meters (measurement from onemap.com.sg). 2. Other than the mall 112 Katong, there are many other shopping malls/amenities within walking distance ranging 7 to 12 minutes include the new Peranakan-styled mall Katong V with a big NTUC Finest supermarket on east coast road (705 meters walking distance,), future One KM mall on Haig road (920 meters walking distance, open next year), wet market at Blk 13 at Haig Road (980 meters walking distance). Of coz, parkway parade too(although walking to it takes a bit longer: 15 minutes, 1150 meters to walk). And, many famous eateries in Katong area. 3. Other than full condo facilities, there are ample parking places, and the basement carpark looks bright and clean, much improved from a few years ago. The tennis court will be re-surfaced in 2014. Not for forget, the new management and security guards are really good! 4. It is very easy to drive to ECP - just two traffic lights. With the newly opened MCE, it brings us even closer to the Marina Bay Financial Center. 5. There are many bus stops within close distance. You can take the small lane besides Haig Court to walk for 5 minutes to two bus stops along Tanjong Katong Road (480 meters walking distance). Alternatively, walk 5 to 7 minutes to different bus stops along Dunman road, Mountbatten Road, East Coast Road and Amber road. 6. There are Canadian International School and Chatsworth International School, as well as a primary school, a secondary school, a girls' school very nearby, all within 500 meters walking distance. 7. An air-conditioned sofa corner at basement of every lift lobby.

    A decent property...

    I have viewed a few 3 and 4 bedroom units at this development after my agent flagged this to us. My family were attracted by the layout of the entire development which comprise four blocks and the layout of the units, which offer a lot of usable space. As a 9 year old property, the overall maintenance is quite decent but could could have been better. We spotted quite a few signs of wear and tear. The basic facilities like swimming pool, gym and function room are there but really nothing to shout about if you compare to the newer properties. However, there seems to be ample car park lots, which is something most newer properties could not offer. The condo is not located near any MRT station so one would have to walk to the main road and take a bus which I reckon will take about 15 to 20 minutes. The road in front of the condo is single lane each and seems quite smooth even though I did read somewhere that the traffic can be quite heavy certain part of the day. It is about 10 minutes drive to the nearby 112 Katong and Parkway Parade. Nearer to it is Katong Shopping Centre which seems quite dated so I don't think it should be a consideration at all. There are a few schools nearby. Surrounding the condo is a newly built single block condo at the front. At the back and left are vacant plots of land which I understand from my agent that they are blocked for residential development, so I guess one has to factor in potential future construction noises. Overall, it is quite a decent property which fits some of my criteria but I must say the asking price of some of the owners seem on the high side but this is topic for another day's discussion.

    Great condo, undervalued

    Bought recently and happily living there. We have viewed many condos nearby, and Haig Court stood out as the best choice. The area is huge, and it is without planter or baywindow, therefore, its 1550 sqft 4-bedroom feels like over 1700 sqft; its 1442 sqft 3-bedroom feels like over 1600sqft, I did not view other sizes, but I believe it is similarly generous; and yet, the price per square foot is much lower than surrounding condos in Amber area, really value for money being a prime D15 unit. In terms of convenience, it is far from MRT, but the condo has ample parking lots and the second parking lot comes free. It is also less than 10 minutes walk to the new shopping mall Katong 112, many eateries along east coast road, and also walking distance to a wet market along haig road. The residence mix including local singpaoreans and expats (perhaps for nearby Canadian and Chatsworth international schools). Nearby construction has finished (almost TOP), and therefore the condo is now super quiet, as it is away from major roads. As for the new management Savills, the friendly staff are doing a great job here! - From a happy residence.

    Nothing Great

    WIth six units in a single floor, the yards of all units are too close to each other. Those not on the highest floors have have dark kitchens and yards. Only those few units on higher floors are brighter. Restled in a quite and peaceful environment. Traffic at Haig Road can be a nighmare.

    Hidden gem in D15! Best value and no regrets.

    Been living here for 3 years now and its a great place! The negative reviews are bull-shit. The people are warm and friendly, good camaraderie and condo atmosphere with nice mix of Local / Asian / Western families, full condo facilities, new + improved + proactive Management (Savills), fantastic local & International schools within 5 mins walking distance, amazing food eateries and dining-out options at Tanjong Katong Road and East Coast Road - again within very short walking distance. People drive down from all over Singapore to eat here! Huge field opposite for outdoor activities like soccer, cricket, kite-flying etc and East Coast Park is a 5 min drive. 7 min drive to CBD and 15-20 mins by Public Transport during non-peak hours. Prime D15 FREEHOLD property with spacious, bright and large living areas unlike the recent new developments. What more could you ask for?!!!

    POOR MAINTENANCE

    I am intending to purchase a property in Dist 15 and heard about Haig Court. With its reasonable price range of $1200psf, good location to eateries and nearby schools. I arranged to view the condo in the coming weekends with the agent. Coincidently, one afternoon passing by, I decided to view the facade and facilities of the condo. The facade seems rather old and rundown, however painting of the condo was in progress, which was much needed. As there are other brand new developments coming up beside and opposite the condo. I drove pass the visitor's access gate without any questions asked, indeed shocking. Security guard on duty dressed shabbily and was too busy on his phone. A negative image for their relax security system , for their visitors. Residents basement carpark looked gloomy , with almost 50% of the lights not on or out of order. Some lights were even flickering. Swimming pool and gym looked old , dull and of poor maintenance. The clubhouse was a disappointment, looked more like a store room full of stacks chairs and tables and nothing else. There is no recreational space for indoor facilities or sofa corner to relax unlike other condos. Tennis court seem dirty and poorly maintained. Too much of noise and pollution from nearby construction. Although Haig Court is a 7 years old property, it seems more like a 20 year old development. With its dull facade and poor maintenance of its facilities. With such negative image from the outside, have decided not to proceed with the viewings of the units. The condo is a disappointment and definitely not measurable for its price . Needs improvement and better maintenance. A honest feedback for future buyers.
