Hi Andy, yes of course you could request from the landlord. And whether the landlord is willing to pay for it, will be another issue.

    Landlord has no legal obligation to install. Tenant can install at their own costs. No approval is needed as they are removable

Dun likely the landlord will pay the cost since you already paid the advance deposit and rental. Installation will be fine as long you seek landlord permission.
