Afternoon,

No industries is a bed of roses. There's the ups and definitely the downs. Nobody will tell you when they are losing money in stock but everyone will tell you when they are earning.
In the industries, you have a tough start, as people nowadays are getting smarter. And some of the act smart, which can be a challenge, if you do not know your facts well.
We do not have basic and the income is rather irregular, hence you need to prepare for rainy days.
We are considered as salesperson, hence you will get alot of expected and unwanted treatment from your prospects. You also need to invest quite abit, on gadgets and tools, to enhance your professional outlook and abilities, even before you earn a penny.
You need alot of self discipline, motivation and being service oriented, to be moving through the tough and competitive market.
Lastly, many left the industries as they met managers who are not willing to guide / teach / assist. They have either too big a team to handle or they simply feels that you are prudent enough to manage on your own.

Hi,

The most important thing to take note of would be the right mindset. There are tried and tested strategies that have been working for so many top closers, but I have seen fellow agents not closing deals and complaining that the market has not been good and the luck is not on their side. Someone has told me that Luck = Preparation + Opportunity.

Before you get to this industry, ask yourself "WHY this industry", if you decided that it is to earn easy money, you have to think twice about joining. No doubt that you have flexible timing and you are working lesser and earning more as compared to a salaried job, the initial route to success is pure determination and hard work. Do not blame if you got bad mentors or coaches when you start, there are so many ways for you to learn from many others. The thing i like about this industry? The high dropout rate. Because if everyone can be successful in this industry and its so easy to standout from the rest, our clients will not find our services necessary anymore.

All the best!! Read More

The fact is, regardless the market is going up or coming down, real estate agents make money. Every month, the top few agents in DTZ is clocking 6 figures commission income.

The question is, are you going to be one of them?

Since most of the people who are actively recruiting are producers themselves, it is not wrong for them to be sharing good news. Since you want a more balance view, I'll share a few facts.

Before the introduction of RES certification, most new agents join their agency's internal new agent training. From what I've gathered from various agencies, 3 out of 10 drop out or became inactive within 1-3 mths. Less than 50% are still practicing after the 1 year. For some agencies, it's 70% to 80%, i.e. only 2 to 3 out of 10 stay beyond the 1st year.

So, 70-80% of the people who enter the industry would have some bad news & warnings to share.

The most common thing is, they joined an uncaring manager who do not give them enough support to get started. So, joining the right manager and right team is critical.

Some others complaint about their agency, but I find that one big major issue is, people run out of $$Bullet$$ or simply lacks the motivation.

If you are not self-motivated, don't join the industry.

If you are passionate about real estate and self motivated, give me a call at 968 55070 and I will share with you more on the coaching and mentoring we provide.
