Hi all, please help a bro out. For non-citizens spouse scheme! “EHG grant”.

If let’s say this year October 2021, I want to apply HLE.

1)
- I work for past 12 months (salary 4k monthly).

-My foreign wife holding ltvp work only previous year oct,nov and Dec 2020 (salary 2.6k monthly).

So is it calculated by:
4k+2.6k = 6.6k
6.6k divide by 2 = 3.3k
Ehg grant = 12.5k?

Or

2)
I should wait till next year January 2022 then apply hle. As it will state to hdb that she’s not working for a full year.

- My salary 4k
- Wife never work for past 12 months so salary $0

And the calculation will be:
So total household $4k
$4k divide by 2 = $2k
Ehg grant = $27.5k?

Please advise!

Hi,

1) Under the Non-citizen spouse scheme. Only you can be the owner, your wife is only an occupier.
2) Condition is both works for 12mths continuously prior to application + still at work when submitting the resale application.
3) Half of the average gross monthly household income (including applicants and occupiers) for the months worked during the 12 months before the flat application must not exceed $4,500. This is just to satisfy the household income not exceeding the application condition.
4) Therefore, let say you apply now. Your wife's salary will not be taken into account since her condition did not match (2).

5) Grant amount:
Single grant: $25k
EHG: $4K => grant = $5k

6) Re-emphasize (3), your idea of household income/2 is to meet the maximum household income of $4,500. This has nothing to do with the amount of EHG.
