To answer your question, it has to be looked at from 2 perspectives, investment or ownstay.
1. Investment
The 2 districts that you have picked are very large districts, meaning a property in Alexandra Road will compare differently to Clementi, Dover and Hong Leong Garden as we move further west.
Similarly, in D15, Meyer, Tg Rhu, Amber compare differently towards Katong and Telok Kurau. With a slight abberation that Siglap and Upper East Coast areas somewhat increase in price though we are further from the city center.
Overall, it has been well documented that D15, 16 are prime suburban land, thus from an investment point of view, generally D15,16 will trumph D5.
2. Own stay
This is a matter of preferrence. Where do your/spouse parents stay? Which food do you prefer? Very personal question that only you can answer.
