I am looking for a HDB flat under the single scheme in Bishan area. I have started to browse through units listed on propertyguru and contact the agents directly to arrange viewing for interested units. However, when I spoke to one agent, he advised me that I should appoint him as an agent so he can help me look out for units that meet my needs and can represent me when I view the units. He also discouraged me to contact the selling agents directly, but rather through him.
He did attempt to explain to me but I am still not very clear. What are the differences and benefits of contacting the sellers' agents directly on my own VS appointing my own agent to represent me in this house hunting process?
